Email/Virus Phishing Scam
NOTICE: We include our phone number in our emails and do NOT send attachments unless you request a specific file from us. Any email appearing to be from Webtownusa that does not have our phone number SHOULD BE DELETED.

If you receive this email or a similar one containing your own domain name - DO NOT OPEN the attachment! This is a virus! This email is NOT being sent by our network.

Emails that say... Dear YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS user,

Your e-mail account was used to send a huge amount of unsolicited spam messages during the recent week ... OR

We have temporarily suspended your email account YOUR EMAIL ADDRESS.

Network Maintenance
DNS Management will be performing an IP address change on domains beginning with 208.234. They will be changed to another IP block which will begin with 216.117. This scheduled maintenance to change your IP address will occur between Monday, January 29, 2007 at 11:00PM ET and Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at 5:00AM ET.

What does this mean for your service? In most cases, nothing. We manage your services, which includes DNS. Thus, you will not need to make any changes. If you have any external sources that reach your server here by your 208.234 IP address, you will need to change them as soon as possible AFTER January 31. Between January 31 and February 7, your 208.234 IP address will be forwarded to your new 216.117 IP address to allow for propagation. This will ensure your services are not interrupted

Train employees not to open attachments unless they are expecting them. Also, do not execute software that is downloaded from the Internet unless it has been scanned for viruses. Simply visiting a compromised Web site can cause infection if certain browser vulnerabilities are not patched.
